In December 2022, Harambee DE members Harper’s Heart and DETV Foundation received grant support from the Longwood Foundation for the first time.

The Longwood Foundation announced 46 organizations among its class of Fall 2022 grantees.
The DETV Foundation, founded and led by Ivan Thomas, received $800,000 to “support expanding capacity, coverage, and reach using DETV news platforms, community programming, and technology.”
Harper’s Heart, founded and led by Giovanna Andrews, received $200,000 to “support capacity building efforts.” In a post on social media she shared: “This grant is a GAME CHANGER for us.”

Harambee Delaware served as a resource for Harper’s Heart and DETV as they progressed through the notoriously rigorous grant application process for Longwood Foundation.
We’re proud of their accomplishment and what this grant support will mean for the communities they serve.
